Interactive flow

  • Choose whether to reuse saved Recording settings or provide new ones.
  • Verify robot_type, leader_port, follower_port, and IDs, then configure cameras.
  • Decide whether to push to HuggingFace Hub; authentication will be required if you select yes.
  • Provide dataset repository name; if it already exists, decide whether to resume or rename.
  • Provide task description, episode duration, and number of episodes.
  • Recording begins and follows LeRobot’s standard UI/controls.

Tips/Notes

  • To maintain datasets locally, use either local/<name> or simply <name>; uploading to Hub remains optional.
  • Controls during recording:
    • Right Arrow (→): early stop/reset and move to next
    • Left Arrow (←): cancel current episode and re-record
    • Escape (ESC): stop session, encode videos, and upload (if enabled)
  • Should ports change during the session, the tool will automatically detect the new ports and attempt to reconnect once.
